Frequently asked questions

How long does the hair need to be prior to waxing?

You need 2 weeks hair growth minimum. 3 is optimal. The hair needs to be the length of a grain of rice. If you can braid it, you might want to trim. I don’t trim. If you do trim, leave about ½ - 1” long.

Should I shave before I come in so it doesn’t hurt as much?

If you shave, then there’s nothing left for me to wax. Do NOT shave.

Should I shave in between waxes?

Noooooo…..put the razor down.

How often should I get a wax?

Every 4-6 weeks. Some stretch it out longer in winter but come every 4 weeks in summer. 4-6 weeks is the norm.

I’m scared it’s going to hurt, what can I do?

Stop being a wimp….just kidding. Some people take an ibuprofen 45 min prior. I also sell a numbing cream that needs to be applied 45 minutes prior.

Can I get a wax while I am on my period?

Yes, I require that you wear a tampon and inform me. I also have complimentary tampons available if needed.

Are there before care instructions?

Try not to use a lot of lotions or oils prior to waxing. Exfoliate 24 hours prior. If I am waxing your private parts, please be courteous and freshen up if needed. I do have personal care wipes if needed.

After care instructions?

Do not do anything that causes excessive friction or sweat for the next 24-48 hours. Yes this means working out or the horizontal hokey pokey. You can get irritation and inflamed follicles. Tell them to look but don’t touch. It’s 1 day. You can do it….I mean don’t do it.

Also try to avoid being submerged in water like baths or hot tubs. Yes you can take a shower.

After 24-48 hours you will want to start exfoliating 2-3 times per week. All of these instructions are to help against irritation and ingrowns.

I promise I followed your instructions…I swear….but I still got ingrowns.

Then I sell a roll-on product that helps them. You use it twice a day and ingrowns should be gone before you know it.
